I am trying to decide which hotel to book a room with for a week or so. The Doubletree seems to have better reviews, and both are on Lexington which is a perfect location for my trip. Anybody know anything I don't know? Anyone stay in either, or both, and have a preference? They are both very reasonably priced right now, though the Radisson is a bit cheaper. My fate could be in your hands! :)
Also, please, if you're going to comment and say that the hotel staff is rude... explain or give an example. I know that some people simply like to get their feet kissed and are never satisfied by any amount of customer service - I'm pretty easy to deal with and to please. I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old and was wondering which hotel will be better for the kids. The Radisson looks like it has a better pool and maybe nicer resaurants but the Sunspree has the kids suites and a kid movie thearter.Which Orlando hotel is better, Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort Lake Buena Vista or Radisson Resort -Celebration?
Haven't been to the Holiday Inn but I stayed at the Radisson Celebration 7 yrs ago now. We are going to Orlando again in a couple of weeks and thats the place we have booked with because we were impressed with the grounds. The pools are awesome if you have kids and just damn impressive when you don't. It has a waterfall! The grounds made us think we were on a tropical vacation. Apparently it has recently completed upgrades as well, which means the rooms should be pretty good. Nothing special for the kids, but really your in Florida you won't be spending a lot of time in the room anyways. I've stayed at both and lived across the street from the Sunspree when I worked for Disney a few years ago. For your kids, I'd recommend either, to be honest. The Radisson is nicer and the kids can play in the outdoor fountain play area by the movie theater. The sunspree is closer to Disney, but only by about a mile to 2 miles. I know, somewhat vague of an answer, but I hope this helps. If all else fails, go with budget. You won't spen too much time in your hotel, so if budget is important, go with the Sunspree, which is less expensive and you can use that saved money at the parks or for a nice, fun character meal!

I've never been to either one. i just came back from a disney vacation and stayed at the Contemporary with my two daughters 2 and 4). It was terrible. You have the right idea. Go to the hotel with the best kiddie amenities...kiddie pool, playground etc.

It shouldn't stop you from getting the job if everything else is cool--make sure you smile and give firm handshakes--be really personable...make a comment about something you see around you to show you're aware of your surroundings, but above all be outgoing and pleasant like you'd want a receptionist to be...they shouldn't even notice the tatoo if you wow 'em...and then tell them you're planning to get a tatoo that says ';Radisson'; next week, lol.

We also have a dress code that i abide by. as long as u can make ur appearance as professional as possible ur good to go. After all look at how many peeps have them- ur definately not the only one

What's the best way travel by bus from Washington, D.C. to Holtsville NY at the Radisson McArthur Hotel?
I tried googling and other train services such as Amtrak, Greyhound etc.. However neither goes to Holtsville, NY. So being though this will be my first time in NY and I'm traveling by myself and very little know anything about Holtsville NY even it's existence, I was thinking of catching a bus to Penn Station and finding my way on the train there. I'm a little nervous of doing that also because I might get overwhelmed with what I have to do to get there. From Penn Station the easiest way to get there would be to take the LIRR to Medford and get a cab from there. Call the hotel and confirm that Medford is the closest station and ask if they can offer any other options but I think that is your best bet. If you take Amtrak to Penn, the LIRR is right down stairs.

Would you stay at a Radisson Edwardian hotel after this?
Have just watched a programme on the customer care side of this group who have 4 and 5 star hotels. Because of the negligently serious shortage of cleaning equipment and training of their staff customers were subjected to this: toilets, basins and baths followed by cups and saucers and glasses all cleaned with the same sponge cloth and wiped over with the previous nights pillowcases which were then used to wipe down mirrors and shower doors and any other surface including toilet seats. Cockroaches and mice in abundance and one housekeeper laughing because a guest had woken up with a rat in bed beside him. Dirty, unchanged bedding smoothed over for the next occupants and urine coated walls around toilet pans. The staff were encouraged to tear up negative guest comments and to fill out new ones with fulsome praise! Posh Hotels Undercover ITV 1 at 8pm.Would you stay at a Radisson Edwardian hotel after this?
Believe me, i worked in a large hotel for years. i encountered very few staff who cared less about hygiene. But, they get paid a pittance, are not motivated, so why be surprised.
Trust me cleaning is very underrated in this country.Those that do it well are not rewarded.

After watching that programme . I have decided should I go to a hotel I will be supplying my own bed linen and cups etc . And I will be cleaning everything myself before I use anything.

This is not uncommon in so called posh places. The next time I stay in a hotel, I will wash the cups before I use them. Truth be told, you are better off staying in a bed and breakfast. You won't find these dirty habits there.
When Robert Carrier had his restaurant in London in the 1960s, most of the guests were rats.
No way. I hate hotels for this reason. I would much rather rent a holiday lodge or cottage and clean my things myself, and make my own dinner!

they wrote and apologised
i have stayed in other so called luxury hotels where the room still had rubbish in the bin and the bed had been slept in .... at midnight they sent up clean sheets to remake the bed
i'm not surprised but it is a disgrace when you consider the cost of staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel
in future any complaints will go straight to the management and not be submitted by comment form....

Without knowing your destination, I'd recommend looking for a ';local'; place. It might make the occasion ';more special'; for you and your new spouse if the hotel isn't one that's also located in your hometown.

Marriott Hotels would be my pick. We've had the pleasure of staying at some pretty nice ones. Best was the time we were in San Francisco by the Fisherman's Wharf! That was fun! (In the evening, you could hear the clip clop of the horse drawn carriages in your room. That was neat.)
EDIT: Hey, K: Have you thought of honeymooning in Mexico like Puerto Vallarta? You could rent a condo on the beach in the ';Romantic'; section of town. It would be wonderful. You could swim in the ocean or condo's pool.... The eateries on the beach are yummy. Think about it. If you want I can give you the name of the condos we stayed at. It was a lot of fun.

Trip to Disney - PARIS? ';Radisson Sas Hotel At Disneyland Resort Paris';?
I am looking to take a trip to Disney, and have come across this hotel. I am told there is a free shuttle bus to the parks. Just wondering if anyone else has stayed there? And where it is in relation to transport if I was to take a trip into Paris for the day.
Also can anyone tell me the best tickets to get for the parks?

This will allow all day use on RER/metro/bus/tram to get you to/fro Eurodisney-Paris, and while you're in Paris. (This is a sensible approach, because single one-way ticket on the RER to Paris is already 6.45euro, so 2-ways is 12.90euro. Getting a day unlimited use ticket means you can travel freely around Paris too, for the same price as a return ticket).
Marne La Vallee-Chessy is on the line of RER A. So depending on where you want to go in Paris, change between RER/metro accordingly.
E.g. to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees : take RER A to Charles de Gaulle-Etoile and get off there.
E.g. to Eiffel Tower : take RER A to Charles de Gaulle-Etoile, change to metro line 2 to either Trocadero (close for works until mid-March) or Bir Hakeim.
There are two parks at Eurodisney - the classic and the studio. I'd advise you to get ticket that allows your to hop between the parks (i.e. do not get the 1day/1park ticket). we went a couple of years ago yes there is a free shuttle bus service that takes you to and from the parks althuogh i cant remember the name of the place we stayed at and we got all our tickets for the parks in with our deal. i dont no bout the distance to paris but i know you cant see the eiffel tower from where we were as i did look for it.if you go be prepared to que a long time for the rides most of them over an hour! and its also quite expensive to buy hotdogs bottles of pop etc......and to eat in the different restaurants.am not trying to put you off,coz my little girl was bout 6 at the time and she loved it!

Egads change your reservation to either Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel or The Emerald Hotel it is more convenient unless you are there for a convention or something. You will end up taking a taxi everywhere and that is not convenient. The Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel is right there on Rama IX and Ratchapisek Road and the Emerald Hotel is up the road on Ratchadapisek Road and both are near MRT subway stations.
Muay Thai is at the Lumphini station of the Subway at the Lumphini Boxing Stadium
Nightlife is along Sukhumvit some the Sukhumvit Station of the Subway to Nana Station on the Skytrain. At the Sukhumvit Station about 50 feet is Soi Cowboy where the Go go places are. At the Nana station is Nana Plaza again the go-go bars.

From Emerald it would take 45 minutes to an hour at around 6 pm. to get to Robinsons. The subway 12 to 15 minutes To Lumphini Park, maybe 25 minutes, I don't want to think how long it would take by Taxi. If you are stuck at Radisson take the taxi to Fortune Town then take the subway to where-ever you plan on going. Or walk.
That should cover it. I will be there around Thanksgiving.

The hotel is excellent in style and quality overall. Check in is efficient and friendly. Taxi service worked very well. As the hotel is located in the Canary Warf area and brand new, normal taxis can have some troubles still to find the hotel, but not a major problem.
The rooms are great. Quite large for ';London standards'; and facilities are superb. Maybe you could hope for some more TV channels than only the basics.
The only negative thing with the hotel is that we found it a bit too quiet. As the location is a bit ot of the city i find it quite important to have a nice bar/lounge with music etc, but it was all quiet and sophisticated. Service in the bar were OK with a little inexperienced staff issued. But overall good.
I would definately stay here again if i will be in the area.

This isn't what you are looking for but it might give you a thought to consider. I take a hush-puppy recipe and make it thicker then normal. Then I add in shrimp and jalapeno peppers. For example internal maintenance re-decoration, potential noise from workmen etc, where they will usually offer you a better deal for any inconvenience. They have no such obligation to warn of issues outside of their control, traffic, road works, beggars etc. The hotels view is to always sell on the good points and not the bad points, you are highly unlikely to get much joy if you make a complaint.

I received a job contract from Radisson Hotels %26amp; Resorts located in Cricklewood Lane 1005, London NW2 1HN, England, UK, but I want to ensure whether this is true and not a scam or fraud. They provided me an agency named England Border Agency LLC (Tel No. 0044 703 5941623 and Fax No. 0044 207 0221712 and their emails: eba_england@live.com as well as eba_england@mail.md) who mentioned that I have to have the working permit and residence visa to be processed from them and I have to pay GBP605 as processing fee. They said that this amount will be reimbursed back to the company after I start joining the company. They also provided me the Entry Visa/Residence Permit Form to be filled up, but I have tried to contact the HR Personnel of the said hotel (0044 703 5946366) but the number was unobtainable. I have sent couple of emails to the hotel, but no reply (radisson.england@gmail.com). I am wondering before I process the papers they required if this hotel totally exisiting. The Radisson Hotels are a part of Scandinavian Airlines Group. They will NEVER use a hotmail address or a Yahoo address. I'm pretty sure this is a SCAM so be care full. You could always try and call a Raddisson Hotel that you know of eg. London, Copenhagen, Oslo or New York, to see if they have ever heard of a Nigerian sister Hotel.
The Radisson website says they will be opening a hotel there in late 2007. But you should be made aware that Nigeria is notorious for sending out solicitations that are usually fraud and scams. Don't ever send a penny to anyone asking for money in Nigeria or any African nation for that matter. In fact, beware of anyone asking you to send money in another country for some sort of fee. This usually leaves them out of the reach of US law enforcement. Remember the old saying, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

how they work--
* they will send you a tricky offer, say an online lotto victory or the transfer of million dollars of money from a dead man's account.
* they will ask you to report back for confirmation
* then they will send you forms with fake govt signs which you will need to fill up and send to them
* then they will ask you for an initial amount so that they can carry out with the rest of the procedure
* and when you send them the amount, that's it you are done for.
- they will disappear in a way they never existed
- your no email will be ever answered.
I even had telephonic converation with one of the bug tooths.
2 years ago I received an email stating that I have won 1.5 million USD in a promotional lotto. And they wanted me to report back.I did. They congratulated me that I have been recognised and my money will be sent soon. But they wanted me to send them an amount of $750 so that the money can be transfered. I went frantic. I was new to internet. I thaught it was my lucky day. $750 never seemed too big infront of
1.5 million.I tried every possible means to arrange the money. I am just a student(even now, in my under graduate) and $750 was not a matter of joke. And after a month of hustle I could not collect enough. So I was not able to send them the money and they left me after a lot of email communications. I broke I went paranoid with the sense that I felt being betrayed by God.I was blind.
After 2 years of that incident in March this year I came across a site on Yahoo that was fighting against this people. There were several letters posted on the web page and the painful part was, there were letters which had perfect resemblance with the letter I had received.I was shocked. And then I thanked God for protecting me from being getting robbed of some hard earned money. So today I stand fighting against them CAUSE I HATE THEM FOR WHAT THEY DO.

They have been catogorized by that name. They have created so much of lose of property around the globe that some of the reputed anty-spam softwares have included them in their catlogue.

Yes, I have stayed there with my family - 4 kids. It is a nice hotel and easy to drive to, since it is just off the DVP. Very handy to the science center, but a long way from the airport.

I think they will advise you to drop this immediately and send no money as, on the face of it, it appears to be a scam. I'm going to Lollapalooza in Chicago and staying in Des Plaines that weekend. I just wanted to know how's the stay there? Any experiences (bad or good)? Do they have wireless internet? People in the Sacramento area, are there any cheaper motels by the Radisson hotel?
I'm attending an Anime Convention, called SacAnime, this weekend, and I would like to know if there are any alternative motels around the area, maybe about a 1 to 2 mile radius (easy walking distance). A reasonably close option is Extended Stay America at 2100 Harvard Street, Sacramento, CA 95815. You should be able to get a room there for less than $60/night. Even though it's only a mile away, walking to the Radisson will be a little tricky. You'll want to study a map before you go. Or, consider taking a cab, since it's fairly close and shouldn't cost much.ireland
