Trixierosa's directions will work, and are pasted off www.hopstop.com, which you can use to plan this and all your other public transit trips within NYC.I'm staying at Radisson Hotel, Lexington Ave., 48th Street, New York. How do I go to Natural Museum by subway
At 42 St %26amp; Lexington get the Shuttle to the West Side (it is a one stop train). There get the local #1 subway two stops to 59 Street. Change there to the D train uptown. Get off at the second stop, which is in the basement of the American Museum of Natural History. Wear comfortable shoes as it is enormous and takes a lot of walking around!
The easy way;

Walk 5 blocks (1/4 mi)uptown

Take the Downtown'; E '; 2 stops to 53 rd st

Change to the Uptown ';B';

Take that 3 stops to the Museum of Natural History

The subway stop is in the basement of the Museum

The MTA offers a lot of different inexpensive multi-ride MetroCards

i.e

All day for $ 7.00

So it may be worth asking about one that suits your needs.

Btw The Museum is great ,have a good time.
damn. I wish I was on vacation in new york.
